Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a Universal Link or UBL and how do I create one?
Universal Links enable readers in different locations to find your book on the appropriate marketplace. We recommend using Universal Links where possible.
A Universal Book Link provides a single URL that an author can share online for events, and directly with their readers. Instead of linking to just one website like Amazon or one country/region like a direct Amazon link does, a UBL directs readers to wherever your book is available in their specific region. Without UBLs, readers complain they can't get to books in their region. This causes unnecessary complications and many readers will bounce. A UBL takes away that frustration, and provides a list of places in a readers' region that carries your book. Books2Read is Free, and is our preferred universal book link.
    Helpful links:
books2read and books2read guide - This page is very useful and gives a better picture of what the UBL looks like.
  • Can another author submit a book I have co-authored without it voiding my submission?
Yes, if they submit it as their single submission.
  • Can I use BookFunnel or a personal website?
No. We had too many readers complaining about BookFunnel and a personal website cannot be used because email collection must remain optional.
  • Is everything free?
The Stuff Your Kindle Events where authors give out free books to readers are free for registration, yes. As long as you help build the excitement with your own following.
  • Why do the hosts get to feature their books on this page?
Because the hosts are spending a lot of time, marketing power promoting your books, and money on this event. Yes, money. The hosts are paying out of pocket for hosting and dino fees. Unfortunately, if there were no pros to running this event, no one would ever do it. If you'd like to lodge a complaint, you can do that here.
  • Are there other Stuff Your Kindle Events?
Yes! You can find them on the official Stuff Your Kindle webpage.
